Aara — Women's Health & Cycle Tracker

1. Welcome to Aara

Aara is a personal wellness companion designed to help you understand your menstrual cycle, track symptoms, and learn about your body. By downloading, installing, or using Aara ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the developer of Aara ("we," "us," or "our"). Contact: contact@aarahealth.app

2. Eligibility and Age Requirements

Minimum Age

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Aara. If you are under 13, you are not permitted to use the App and we will not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Users Aged 13–17 (Teen Mode)

If you are between 13 and 17 years of age:

Users who are 18 or older may access all App features, including the Aara Plus subscription and AI companion, subject to these Terms.

Pricing is subject to change with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

What's Included

Aara Plus unlocks: unlimited AI companion conversations, no ads anywhere in the app, Doctor Prep PDF export, and advanced cycle insights.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed through Google Play Billing. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. By subscribing, you authorise the charge to your Google Play payment method.

Free Trial

If a free trial is offered, it converts automatically to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled beforehand.

How to Cancel

Cancel at any time through: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Aara → Cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods, except as required by law.

5. Free Tier and Advertising

The free tier of Aara includes 10 AI questions per month and is supported by advertising through Google AdMob. Advertisements are displayed only on non-health-sensitive screens — never on screens where you are entering health data, viewing cycle predictions, or using wellness features.

Aara Plus subscribers have an ad-free experience. Advertising is disabled for users in Teen Mode (ages 13–17).

6. AI Companion

Aara Plus includes an AI companion powered by Google Gemini (via a secure Cloudflare Worker proxy — the API key is never inside the app). By using the AI companion, you acknowledge:

What is sent when you use AI

Always sent: your question text, age range, BMI category, health conditions, current cycle phase, and top symptoms. No name, exact age, or specific dates are ever included.

Additionally sent if "Personalised AI answers" is ON in Settings: cycle day, PCOS flag, mood by phase, and medication count (not names). You can disable this at any time.

7. Your Data and Local Storage

Aara is designed with a privacy-first, offline-first architecture. Your health data — cycle logs, symptoms, journal entries, mood, reminders — is stored locally on your device using Hive local storage. This data does not leave your device except as described in Section 6 (AI companion) and in our Privacy Policy.

Deleting the App permanently deletes all locally stored health data. This action is irreversible. We do not maintain server-side backups of your personal health data.

Aara is designed in accordance with the principles of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.

8. Food, Supplement, and Wellness Suggestions

Food and supplement suggestions — including Ayurvedic references — are general wellness information only, not clinically proven treatments. Always check for personal allergies before trying any suggested food. Consult your doctor before starting any supplement, especially if you take medications, have a chronic condition, are pregnant, or trying to conceive.

9. Pill Reminders

Pill reminders are convenience tools only. You are solely responsible for managing your medications correctly. Notification delivery depends on your device settings — Aara cannot guarantee delivery.

10. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to: use the App for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse engineer or decompile the App; misrepresent your age to bypass age restrictions; share your Aara Plus subscription access with others; or use automated tools to access the App at scale.

11. Intellectual Property

Aara and all of its content, features, and functionality — including its design, code, text, graphics, and the "Aara" name — are owned by us and protected by Indian and international intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₹500, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, health outcomes, reproductive outcomes, or missed medical diagnoses, arising from your use or inability to use the App.

13. Legal

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, with jurisdiction in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Disputes will be resolved through arbitration before litigation. Terms may be updated — continued use after 30 days of notification of changes constitutes acceptance.
